Peter is about ephemeral art, conceptual art, haute couture, empiricism, narcissism, phenomenalism, hyperreality, emperors new clothes, stimulation, simulation, simulacrum, aura, Andy Warhol, Peter Lowe.
Peter, Verb, Fade. 'Peter' was a my final project of University in which I wrote my own brief. I used this opportunity to really explore my true personal style, ideas and interests to create something truly special.
I decided to choose a subject which I wanted to learn more about - Fashion. I became more interested in Haute Couture, and thought how the ideas of Haute Couture could be translated into graphic design.
My concept from this was to create an emphemeral magazine, echoing the ephemeral nature of fashion. The magazine is printed on light sensitive paper, treated in a way in which the magazine, once opened and taken from its protective bag, will start to fade to black, therefore, the reader can only view the magazine once before it dissapears to nothing.
